iSCSI

Experience Level: Intermediate

I am currently using iSCSI at home with my Apple OS X Server, and XSan. Even though iSCSI it is not officially supported for use with XSan, it works great, and I have not had any issues.

Things I like about iSCSI

  • Easy to deploy.
  • Less hardware costs than the Fiber Channel alternative.
  • Many storage solution companies are now releasing cost effective iSCSI solutions.
